This being the first post on our new website, I thought I’d send out an open invitation to all creative cross stitchers out there to come along, join our group and share the fun with other like minded cross stitchers!

I’m Hazel, your group leader at the Spen Valley Cross Stitch Club and I’m a cross stitch addict who’s been practicing cross stitch for over 25 years. A long time yes, however I’m a mere beginner compared to some of our other members who’ve been crossing for over 40 years, and still love it!

Our club is open to all people of all ages. Men and women included of course, so if you’re a stitching fanatic, why not pop down to one of our meetings to see what we have in store for you.

You can bring along any kind of cross stitch work that you have on the go, enjoy an evening with people who share your hobby and swap tips and ideas along the way. We hold regular events and exhibitions of our members’ work,  for example in the local library, Christmas Fairs and enjoy regular meals out:  so as you can see, there will be fun and a great social aspect to it all that join our happy band of stitchers.

We hold our club meetings at the Central Methodist Church in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire (opposite the Memorial Park and close to Cleckheaton Bus Station) on the first and third Wednesday evening of each month from 7pm to 9pm.

We ask for an affordable joining fee of £30 which also gives you 12 months membership. A further £30 fee applies annually for continued membership.
